VIDEO AND PREVIEW RESULT IN SCHOLARSHIPS!

Our video page and our Summer Preview have already resulted in scholarships for two of our outstanding College Prep athletes! Here are their stories:

DEVIN’S STORY: Roanoke College coaches usually watch a player at least TWELVE times before offering a scholarship. For Devin Briney, a 2009 grad and College Prep athlete, all it took was once! The coaches watched Devin’s video online and offered her a scholarship based on the video alone! Devin will be attending Roanoke College this fall. Congratulations, Devin!

This is just ONE example of how coaches use our video page for recruiting purposes. We get email consistently from college coaches (our contact list – coaches we have contacted or who have contacted us – totals more than 200 coaches) requesting passwords to view our athletes’ videos. They are usually interested in one or two specific athletes. We send profile information to our athletes’ colleges of choice, and our athletes also send their own information to the colleges they are interested in. All this work on the athlete’s behalf results in this kind of success. OUR VIDEOS ROCK!

CORINNE’S STORY: The husband-and-wife team of coaches from Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia were brand new to our College Preview. They had viewed Corinne Carrington’s video online and were anxious to see her at Preview. Once they did, they were sold. They offered Corinne (a 2010 College Prep athlete) a scholarship on the spot. Congratulations, Corinne!

Kelly Jackson Speaks at Athlete of the Year Awards Night

Kelly Jackson, president, owner, and lead instructor of All American Softball, Inc. spoke at the Chick-fil-A – Advance 28 Athlete of the Year Scholarship Awards Night on Saturday, May 30. This was an exciting night for Kelly. Over 300 people were in attendance to hear Kelly and four other celebrity athletes speak to the athletes receiving scholarships, and their families and friends.. Kelly spoke about “Living the Dream”, and discussed her own experience in founding and developing All American Softball School and the All American College Prep Program.

In addition to Chick-fil-A, the event was hosted by William Jessup University, and supported by Staples on Stanford Ranch and Coca-Cola Bottling of Sacramento.

Spring 2009 Signing Night at All American

The Spring 2009 Signing Night Party was held at All American Softball on Monday, June 1. Kelly Jackson, President of All American Softball, Inc. presented certificates of Outstanding Achievement to seven of the fourteen athletes enrolled in All American’s College Prep Program who have signed to play college softball.

First Coaches Clinic of 2009 a resounding success!

Over 150 coaches from recreational softball teams enjoyed attending three weekend clinics conducted on February 6th, 7th, and 8th by Kelly Jackson, owner and president of All American Softball, Inc. These clinics were designed to demonstrate the details of coaching fastpitch softball to young athletes. The clinics not only provided hands-on tips and guidelines on how to coach the mechanics, but also classroom work on how to coach your own child, handling challenging parents, and practice organization.

2009 GRADS SIGN LETTERS OF INTENT

It was an exciting time at All American Softball on Thursday, November 13. Six 2009 graduates, all of whom are from All American’s College Prep Program, signed letters of intent to play college softball. They are:

• Angelina Armstrong – Simpson University (Redding) Redhawks
• Heather Jensen – San Francisco State University Gators
• Danai Martin – Creighton University (Omaha) Bluejays
• Summer Powell – San Francisco State University Gators
• Kelly Rose – San Francisco State University Gators
• Jessica Thweatt – UC Davis Aggies

In addition, four other athletes who have trained at All American Softball signed letters as well. They are Kari Tall-Domingos, Evangel University; Alicja Wolny, University of Louisville; Cara Spence, San Francisco State, and Madison Smith, Montana State.

Channel 3 and Fox 40 were on hand to capture the excitement and televise it that evening on their respective news broadcasts.

All American is very proud of all its athletes, and particularly proud of these early signers!

Summer Preview 2008 was sensational! August 8, 2008 was a big day for All American Softball, Inc., its participating athletes and friends. Summer College Preview Night took place at Maidu Regional Park in Roseville, and was an unqualified success! We had more recruiting coaches from more colleges than ever in the history of Preview.

Over 100 athletes participated in Preview, showcasing their softball talents in front of over 40 coaches from 27 different schools. All American received kudos aplenty from both coaches and athletes for organizing and sponsoring this truly outstanding event.

Guess who came to summer camp? We were all excited to see a surprise visitor at Summer Camp! Katie Crabb, an All American College Prep alumna who’s now at Arizona State University, dropped by to talk to our Summer Camp athletes.

Katie was a student at All American from the time she was very young, and moved into the College Prep program during high school. She obtained a full ride scholarship to ASU based on her College Prep experience and progress. Katie comes back to All American regularly to practice and keep her skills sharp.

At Summer Camp, Katie spent an hour with our young athletes, speaking inspirationally about her time at All American, about her life at ASU and the importance of academics, as well as the thrill of traveling with her team and seeing new places and people.

2008 SUMMER CAMP WAS AWESOME!! Our 2008 Summer Camp was held from June 23 through June 26, and according to the girls who participated, a great time was had by all! These young athletes were truly enthusiastic, and enjoyed themselves. At the same time, they learned some very important skills which will serve them well now and later. OLYMPIC TEAM EXHIBITION GAME A GREAT SUCCESS!

On Monday, May 19 the USA Softball Women’s National Team came to Sacramento on its way to Beijing for the 2008 summer Olympics. The exhibition game with Team Sacramento, softball all-stars from the greater Sacramento region, was a great success.

Part of its success was due to partnering with All American Softball, Inc. All American was able to provide equipment for the game and uniforms for Team Sacramento via its multiple vendor contacts.

Team Sacramento has strong ties with All American Softball, Inc. Several All American staff and College Prep alumnae were key members of the team: Kim Fujimoto, Jaci Ecker, Sara Fleming, and Keri Casas, who have all trained and instructed at All American.

All American had a big presence at the exhibition game, with a large booth providing information about lessons, the pro shop, and the College Prep Program, as well as merchandise from its vendor partners, Mizuno, Intensity, Worth, Louisville, Schutt, and Wilson.

Some Team Sacramento game highlights:

• Shortstop Amy Thompkins had a first-pitch single against Jenni Finch.
• DP Keri Casas went 2 for 2 against Jenni Finch.
• Jaci Eckert had a mid-game single.

All American Softball, Inc.'s November Athlete of the Month is Charlee Cisneros. Charlee is a unique, power hitting slapper and lefty catcher for the California Flames ASA program. She is currently attending Elk Grove High School and has been a member of the varsity team since she was a freshman. In her past sophomore season, Charlee appeared in all but one game, maintaining a .313 batting average, the second highest on the team.

Charlee is one of our hardest working, most dedicated athletes at All American. She has been coming in to the school once a week since she was nine years old and has recently joined our College prep program. When Charlee comes in for her hour lesson, she spends about three extra hours in the facility helping out our pitching instructors by catching two different, one hour lessons. We know that if Charlee keeps up the hard work it will soon pay off and help her get a great college education.

All American Softball Roseville’s July and August Athletes of the Month are Bailey and Courtney Edwards. These sisters have made tremendous improvements since they began coming in for lessons earlier this year. Bailey is a pitcher for a local 10U team and Courtney is a pitcher for a local 12U team. This sister duo is on their way to being the top pitchers in their age groups. These girls give 110% every time they come in for lessons, where the focus on both hitting and pitching. Out side of lessons with us they also do plyometrics training to make sure they are all-around strong athletes. Watch out for these sisters as they continue to improve. Congratulations Bailey and Courtney!

July’s joint Athlete of the Month is Tenaya Tucker. Tenaya graduated from Roseville High School and will be attending UNC Charlotte in the fall. She started training at All American when she was just nine years old. She has a great attitude in all of her lessons and works extremely hard, even when facing injury. Tenaya suffered a knee injury in the middle of her high school career which threatened her hopes of playing in college. She had to work harder than most to perform well in games and be noticed by colleges. Tenaya will be a great addition to UNC Charlotte's softball program. Congratulations, Tenaya!

July’s joint Athlete of the Month is Kristyn Haycock. Kristyn graduated from Union Mine High School and will be attending Chico State in the fall. She has attended All American longer than almost any other athlete. Even in the face of adversity, Kristyn always shines through and does so with a stellar attitude. Kristyn has shown so much strength and perseverance throughout her life in difficult experiences and situations. She is a true All American athlete. Kristyn will, without a doubt, have a very strong softball career at Chico State. Congratulations, Kristyn!

All American Softball, Inc.'s June Athlete of the Month is Brooklyn Stuart. Brooklyn graduated from Elk Grove High School in June and is headed to college at CSU Bakersfield in the fall. She was a part of our College Prep Program and was an extremely hard working and dedicated athlete. Although she suffered an injury near the end of her high school career, she was able to persevere and remain a force to be reckoned with on the softball field. She had a stellar senior season, batting .309 with a .444 slugging percentage. Over the season she posted 4 doubles, 2 triples and one home run. Brooklyn never gives up and will be a valuable asset to CSU Bakersfield. Congratulations Brooklyn!

All American Softball, Inc.'s May athlete of the month is Shelby Asbury. Shelby has been training at All American Softball, Inc. for about four years. She played multiple sports until she reached high school when she decided to concentrate on softball. As just a Freshman for the St. Patrick/St. Vincent Bruins, Shelby established herself as their starting catcher. However, her athletic prowess is not limited only to defensive play. Shelby finished her season with a .400 batting average, a .708 slugging percentage, 3 home runs, 30 RBIs and only 3 strike outs. Her instructor, Jenni Friedrichs, describes her work ethic, “Shelby comes to every lesson ready to work hard. She is never satisfied and always strives to be a better athlete.” Congratulations Shelby!

All American Softball, Inc.'s April Athlete of the Month is Nikole Sharp. Nikole is one of All American Softball, Inc.'s longest standing students. Now 14, she has been training at All American since she was 6 years old. Nikole is an outstanding pitcher with a huge potential to have a long career in fastpitch. Along with softball, Nikole also excels in basketball and volleyball as well as in the classroom. Her pitching instructor, Brianne Ferguson, remarks, “The term work ethic takes on a whole new meaning with Nikole Sharp. Her tenacity and willingness to always give 110% have helped mold her into the stand out athlete she is today. Judging by her dedication and determination to be the best she can be, Nikole has a very bright softball career in her future.” Nikole's hard work and dedication to the game make her a model All American athlete. Congratulations, Nikole!

All American Softball, Inc.’s Roseville April Athlete of the month is 11 year old Savannah Loomis. Savannah began taking lessons at All American in the spring of 2006, and over the past year she has developed into an outstanding athlete. Savannah not only has a deep understanding of the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, and defense, but she also is able to anticipate each play in the game. Savannah has pushed herself over the past year, transforming into an amazing pitcher and a definite threat at the plate. For her Roseville Girls Softball team, the Purple Poison, Savannah has struck out 75 of her last 100 batters, and in her last game she went 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 homeruns. Last winter Savannah was selected to play for the 10U Roseville Thunder (Blue) and has been selected for this summer’s Roseville Thunder (Red) team to act as a lethal weapon on both the mound and at the plate. Savannah is a tremendous joy to coach. She loves to play and loves the game which is the reason why she is a perfect athlete of the month for All American.

This past Friday night, on April 20th, the All American Softball, Inc. College Prep Program hosted its annual signing party, celebrating the 2007 graduating seniors from the program who were celebrating the signing of their college letters of intent. The eight seniors gathered at the All American Softball, Inc. facility in West Sacramento as their family and friends celebrated their success and wished them luck in their future endeavors. A special “thank you” goes out to KCRA Channel 3 for covering this special night in their news broadcast.

All American Softball, Inc. and College Prep Program is in its 14th year of business in the Sacramento area. All American Softball, Inc. has Pro Shops in West Sacramento and Roseville that carry top softball and baseball equipment. At both facilities, professional lessons are provided for athletes of all ages. Along with these features, All American Softball, Inc. also has a highly successful recruitment assistance program called the College Prep Program. The All American Softball, Inc. College Prep program has placed over 260 athletes in colleges across the nation to date.

President and owner of All American Softball, Inc. and College Prep Program, Kelly Jackson, hosted the signing party for the eight seniors and their supporters. The group of future graduates included the following:

Amy Bonesteel attends Dixon High School and is currently being recruited very strongly by Chipola College in Florida. She has been a student at All American Softball, Inc. for four years. Amy was in a hitting slump when she first joined All American, but has experienced significant improvement and a large amount of success since joining the program.

Jenna Fong attends McClatchy High School and recently decided to attend Santa Clara University next year. She has received training from All American for the past 8 years. Although her college search and recruitment process has been stressful, both her athletic and academic prowess have never failed and she is now looking forward to a great college career.

Kristyn Haycock attends Union Mine High School and is heading to Chico State for college. She has attended All American longer than most athletes, and her hard work and training have certainly paid off. Kristyn has shown so much strength and perseverance throughout her life in difficult experiences and situations. Kristyn will, without a doubt, have a very strong softball career at Chico State.

Alicia Logasa attends Oroville High School and will attend CSU Monterey Bay in the fall. She has trained at All American for 2 ½ years. Alicia is a very competitive athlete who comes from an extremely small community. Coming to All American provided her with exposure to colleges who would not have seen her otherwise, and she commented that had it not been for Kelly Jackson and the All American College Prep Program, she would not have received her college scholarship. Her confidence and talent made her a desirable athlete in the College Prep Program and CSU Monterey Bay is gaining a great athlete.

Geneva Perrine attends Christian Brothers High School and will play for Humboldt State next year. She has trained at All American since she was ten years old. With such a positive attitude, Geneva was a great athlete to train. She always worked extremely hard to reach her goals and will be a strong addition to Humboldt's softball program.

Brooklyn Stuart attends Elk Grove High School and has CSU Bakersfield recruiting her very strongly. She has trained here at All American for a year and a half. The process of choosing a college to attend has been stressful, but Brooklyn has always stayed positive and optimistic. That attitude also reflects how she trains as an athlete. Her strong work ethic has helped her get over an injury and will definitely benefit whatever college's softball program she decides to join.

Christa Simon attends Vacaville High School and will attend Southern Oregon University in the fall. She has trained at All American for four years. Christa has always been so eager to learn more about the game in all of her lessons. The result has been that she is an extremely knowledgeable and talented player. Her continued softball career at Southern Oregon will surely reflect those qualities in her as an athlete.

Tenaya Tucker attends Roseville High School and has decided to attend UNC Charlotte. She started training at All American when she was just nine years old before taking a hiatus. She then returned after suffering a knee injury. She was anxious to strengthen her knee and build her confidence and athleticism. She worked extremely hard in all of her lessons to overcome every obstacle and will be a great addition to UNC Charlotte's softball program.

All American Softball, Inc.'s March athlete of the month is Danielle Anderson. Danielle's great attitude outshines even her excellent performance on the field and in the classroom. She always works extremely hard in her lessons and her dedication to the sport is a perfect example of a champion All American. Her hard work has made her one of All American Softball, Inc.'s most improved athletes and it truly shows in her playing. Danielle is the lone Freshman and starting Short Stop on Rio Linda High School's Varsity softball team. She is also a Central Valley League leader with a perfect fielding percentage, boasting 20 put-outs and 41 assists. With a .404 batting average, Danielle is having a stellar season. Congratulations Danielle!

All American Softball, Inc's Roseville March Athlete of the Month is Hayley Gately. Hayley, who is 13 years old, began taking lessons in December and has already blossomed into an outstanding pitcher. Hayley started out taking lessons once a week, working solely on pitching, and is now coming in twice a week to work on both her pitching technique as well as hitting. Her hard work and diligence is truly paying off. Hayley is the starting pitcher for her rec ball team in Roseville as well as part of the pitching staff for the Yard Sharks. Hayley is now averaging 10 strikeouts per game and she is also recognized as being one of her team’s top hitters. Hayley is currently perfecting her drop ball as well as her fierce change-up. Always coachable and fun, Hayley is one of the many reasons that Weezie looks so forward to giving lessons.

On Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007, the All American Softball, Inc. College Prep Program hosted a private preview for the head coach of CSU Monterey Bay's softball program. Coach Kenney watched five of our high school athletes hit in the batting cages, field ground balls in the defensive cage, and pitch and catch in the pitching lane at our facility. By the end of the preview, two of our athletes were invited to an official visit to the CSUMB campus!!
